Hope somebody can help - have never had any problems connecting, but since last night, have been unable to sign in to PSN. No settings have been changed - PCs connect to net, and PS3 browser works too. When I test the internet settings, it gets an IP address but then fails the next part. Tried turning off, turning on, rebooting router, checking settings etc...What is happening?!?!
...really? You couldn't do a lick of searching? Or waiting?
The problem isn't with your internet connection. The PSN's just going through a weekly update. Every Thursday, I believe.
Try it out later today or tomorrow. Sheesh, getting all "ho noez mah Pee Es Tehree!!" over something simple. Not trying to sound rude, but god, people need to search more.
To be honest with you, I searched for several hours as I've had this problem since Wednesday afternoon. I very rarely resort to posting questions 1) because I can figure most problems out and 2) because of the kind of sarcastic, half-arsed replies that you get from certain people who seem to get a kick from typing unhelpful tripe. This one however had me foxed. Turns out though that it was NOT to do with the weekly update - rather it was my ISP migrating servers. I had basic net access but could not get to certain sites which required authentification - eBay, Yahoo... and so, in turn, the PSN and any PS3 online gaming.
But thanks for trying. Really.
