hi everybody, my xbox 360 had the rrod ,secondary code 0020 (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/701790) and i opened it up and tried the penny fix and that did'nt work so i took it out and put my 360 back 2gether now it won't even turn on could any1 help by telling me what to chek on the motherboard etc.. thanks

You might try checking for scratched traces or missing components on the mobo.

Um? They could be anywhere. So maybe you could post pics of your specific mother board or if you see an area that looks questionable then post it so that people can look at it and make some suggestions.

You took pictures mostly of your heatsinks and no pictures whatsoever of the bottom side of your motherboard.
It's hard to tell but I don't see anything bad on the pics you took.
You might want to try to up some of the other parts of the motherboard including the bottom side though.

Check your power brick for a yellow/orange light to make sure it's in standby mode. If the light is red and it doesn't switch to green when you push the power button then you know it's not the 360.

also you could have bent the board when doing the penny fix, i've done it a couple times and 3 pennies are almost too much. Make sure the pennies are wrapped in electrical tape all the way around, you don't want copper touching any metal.

check near where the power cord conencts to the 360, that's probably where the the problem is. I've never seen a 360 that won't turn on, but i've had a couple xbox's that have had direct shorts and when trying to power they would just kick back off.

Also like copper suggested take a pic of the bottom of the board, more than likely it's on the bottom than on the top.

Try taking the board completely out, hooking up the dvd to the 360 and powering it.
