What's the difference between +R and -R DVD disks????

Hi can someone please tell me what the difference between +R and -R blank DVD disks???? Is it true that the +R will give a better quality DVD movie backup?

Nope, not really. Virtually identical on playback, the +R format is going ahead in writing speeds slightly faster than the -R, but the -R is more compatible with Players.:
