I know this is gonna sound really noobish but....

Is there anyway to burn WAD files onto a DVD and just put them into a modded wii to run? If there isn't, is there anyway to run homebrew and other things from USB or SD Card, so that u don't have to actually install anything on your Wii such as Homebrew Channel? I just want something that will run on my wii but still give me the 100% security that Nintendo will NOT brick my wii when I go online via WiFi.

Wads are channels. Channels only run from the wii memory. This might change in the future as nintendo is facing heat over the limited wii memory and alot of people want channels to be able to run from an SD card.

Emulators can be run from a DVD without installing the homebrew channel but then you need to install the custom firmware to make that work and use the twilight hack every time you want to boot the emulators.

However, there remains the fact that no one has ever reported being bricked by nintendo for any reason. I really dont think they would make such a heavy-handed motion against the homebrew community because they know it will do them more harm than good. Their attempt at blocking the twilight hack was completely ineffectual, bricking those using it would be no more effective and would alienate a huge portion of their market.

The only thing i'm interested in would be to get the Internet Channel for free as it is 500 Wii Points, as of for right now.

So it would be ok to use the Twilight Hack/Homebrew Channel to get the Internet Channel and other WAD files and still be able to go online without getting brickedd?
