From what I've read on this forum, the only way to insert a still picture in a movie using Nero is to create a slideshow using the still, save it as a VOB file, and use that as input to NVE. So here's what I did ...

Used VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.2 to take a snapshot of a movie frame in BMP format.
Used NVE 3 to make a slide show to DVD-Video using the single still pic (7 seconds in length)
No menu - Wrote to HD - Video_TS created.

Tried adding the still to a movie file two ways ...
1.
Use NVE to Make Movie
Open AVI video file
Open VOB
Add Video file to project
Add VOB file to project
"NV has encountered a problem and needs to close."

2.
Use NVE to Make DVD | DVD-Video
Add AVI video file
Add VOB file (length shown is 0m0s instead of 0m7s)
Export
"Error Occurred"
Saved the output to HD - could not open.

I'm sure there's a way to do this - what am I doing wrong?

BTW ... MS Movie Maker makes it fallin'-off-the-log easy to do this, but it distorts the still pic by increasing its width and decreasing its height even though it's 720x480 just like the video file.
