What is the likely chance of being banned from xbox live using the latest software in flashing ur xbox? Also do u get banned by having a flashed xbox online or playing the back ups online?

not certain about now, i havent been in the modding scene for almost a year now, but from what i understand if you have everything patched right and you are using the newest firmware you shouldnt get banned. and you get banned for playing the backups, they detect inconsistencies in the checksums on the discs i think, but im not 100% certain.

the best way to play on LIVE, is not to mod the system at all.
it's still unknown on how microsoft does their bans. the most common reason is that the system keeps a log of ALL the games (original or backup, online or offline) you play on the system itself, not the hard drive. then once you sign on LIVE, the system will send that log to the servers. then it's only a matter of time.
next speculation of the ban hammer is when the new dashboard is out.
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure
got a whole lot more to list . . .

some do, some don't. People are just guessing with the new dashboard coming out, that there will also be a ban hammer. We aren't 100% sure, but it's very possible.

was there any idea of geographical location where bans were taking place or was it just random?

Wow mikeismad is back?! I've been in the scene, just haven't been in afterdawn a whole lot. Been on IRC chatting with the guys working on the mod. Supposedly c4eva is coming out with iXtreme 1.5, which will probably be released right after the new update!
I think that people who played Fallout 3 may have a good chance at getting the ban, because Bethesda made such a huge deal about it on the internet! I mean when Halo 3 was leaked, the guy wasn't even banned! Who really knows though...

HAHA yep, I'm back.
As far as the bans, when the last dashboard update hit I don't think it was an effort to catch modders, I think their biggest effort so far was with the patch following halo 3 when everyone got caught. It's funny cause I had it early, I played it early, and the ms28 drive that I had been using since the christmas 06 is still on live and is still perfect. (knock on wood)

Its amythological hammer, used by programmers, only insted of an actual hammer, its a button on thier PC to DELETE you from xbox live
What little power they have & huge ego to push a button will cause massive, not regular, but massive damage to your ego as u can not play on live with that modded 360.

Is there a way i can see my xbox dvd drive version early before opening my console because....im at the last part of opening my 360 and kinda stuck getting a torx10 screwdriver. Also....is there no other tool i can use to open it?

The only thing you can check is whether its a Hitachi/Samsung/BenQ/Lite-On. If you google "What drive do I have", you can usually find pics of the drives ejected, and that will tell you what drive it is... Just not the exact model of drive!
