Ubuntu video config on a PS3?

I just installed Unbuntu on my PS3 but I cant figure out how to optimize the video. I am running it on a full 1080p tv with hdmi.

I have seen that grid and I know about video=ps3fb:mode:5 but I dont know what to do with it.

Any help would be appreciated.

oh and right now its booting in 480p. bleh.

You'd be better off posting in the Ubuntu forums. Also be aware that the PS3 hypervisor doesn't give access to a lot of the graphics hardware (RSX engine), I'm not sure exactly to what extent, but you may run into a performance barrier that can't yet (to the best of my knowledge) be bypassed. I don't own one (for this very reason, once they find a hack I'd be very tempted), and I don't think any of the regulars around here do either, so you'll probably have to keep hunting.

Maybe search for xorg.conf settings. They should be fairly generic, and the settings are possibly even in your config file already, just need to comment/delete out ones you don't want.
