I am attempting to flash a Hitachi-47D with Vista 64. I am having some compatibility issues with the flashing software and I was wondering if there is a way around this or am I needing to find a 32 bit platform to flash from? I googled around and read all the tutorials that I could find but still have not came by a answer. Any help would be appreciated, I did get the firmware to backup using the toolbox so something worked atleast!

Also would using virtual pc and xp 32bit work?

When you are using the programs in Windows, make sure you run them as Administrator! Even if you are the Admin of the computer, you still have to right-click on the program, and select Run As Administrator. Try and see if that works!

Thanks for the response! I should have been a bit clearer on what the error was but the firmware updater is incompatible with the 64bit platform and requires 32bit :-\ I did try virtual pc last night and it did pick up on the drive after some finesse and yelling. It did not patch the firmware because I am assuming that it's just emulating the drive in vpc. I guess my next step is to shrink my partition table in vista and slap on a copy of xp.
