Hi

First of all i'm new to this and this may well have been covered already!

I have just bought Xbox 360 and looks like it has a philips DVD drive. Am i right in saying this cant be flashed?

If it can't can it be changed and then flashed? if so how hard is this? what would be the best drive to get to be able to flash it?

you need to take it apart to figure out what kind of drive it is for sure. phillips can be on the drive but its not what your looking for, which would be the model #

I have just checked my PC and it has not SATA ports. Do these need to be directly on the motherboard or can i just buy a SATA card and put that in my PC?

SATA card is fine. Make sure it has the VIA 6421 chipset. There are plenty of threads about which cards to buy.
