Hello,

I've recently encountered the same problem. Last week I tried download the Endwar demo and it wouldn't go over 1% so I made the mistake of clearing my hard drive cache to try and fix it. Now I can't download any updates either, can't play any games online (single player or multiplayer), etc... Please let me know how your situation is going and if you've managed to figure anything out. Thanks.

Did either of you call MS to see what they would say to fix it?

I called them and the rep said that my hard drive was infected, though I can save and load games fine. I called back to try and set up a repair because my disc drive's also been going for months only to find out that after I got my last (4th or 5th) refurbished piece of garbage back, it only had a three month warranty. Three months? Really? What good is that? So now I'm supposed to gladly pony up $100 to get that fixed and lose all of my save files...

I honestly don't believe (or don't want to believe) that the problem lies with my hard drive. The customer service has been less than helpful, asking me to go through completely inane troubleshooting like deleting my profile, clearing the cache, turning off the system, removing the hard drive, unplugging everything, holding down the power button for 5 seconds (?), plugging everything back in and restoring my profile. It didn't work. Go figure.

I'm sorry. I'm just very agitated. After putting so much money into this thing, it just keeps sucking me dry, leaving me more frustrated than excited with all of the great games coming out too.

Well, I figured out what my problem was, in case the original poster is still having problems. I have a bit of an unorthodox setup, using my laptop as a router and somehow some firewall settings got changed. Though I was still able to play online on my 360 and download things to my laptop, it prevented me from downloading anything to the 360. Yup, I'm an ass, but I'm relieved.
