Hard drive space is limited and the games being all but about 8 gigs you wouldnt be able to have many on there. As far as I know they havnt found a way to bootlegg onto the HD tho and it might be some time before they do. Um and as far as the uk question im in the US so no luck there

granted, they are coming out with the new dashboard update which will allow you to play your games from the hard drive (still need disc in tray to ensure you have the game). But as a method of backing up your games, you can't have just an image on the hard drive you boot off of. Right now we are still just making physical backups of the media.

ok great so within time it might be possible,
so would it be better to spend more money for the xbox 360 Elite 120gb HDD or getting the smaller size model and adding my own HDD, also does the Elite model only mean having the large HDD.

I guess I could agree with you to say that it will be possible for booting off hard drive, but I would also have to say I think it is unlikely. Right now, with backing up using physical media, it's just the way that it has been. Granted at first I am sure there were many attempts to figure out how to do it off of a hard drive, but as of yet, none were successful. So I would NOT plan on a future scene release of the ability to play off of your hard drive, but rather plan for backing up games using dual layer dvds (verbs).

Therefore, I wouldn't really buy the bigger hard drive unless you know you would use the space for things you download (map packs, movies, music, any downloadable media from XBL or so).
