note: I'm sorry if this has been posted b4 but i've searched and i was unable to find it.

I'm getting rdy to buy a psp for the first time and of course i wanna be able to change everything on it, and put everything on it. from themes and backgrounds to emulators for everything and etc.
But, i'm very confused i've been looking on this forum and MANY other about how to do it and all that, and it all comes back to what version psp you have or the firmware.
I just wanna know does it rly matter THAT much?
Because i was looking on like ebgames.com and it came up with 3 different psp's,
The core (newest i believe)

i wanted to get the newest of course i figured it would be good but
which one should i get if i want to do all this with my psp?
and after that, what's a good tutorial for hacking the psp?
Do i need to update the firmware? crack the firmware? etc etc.

you need to downgrade/crack the firmawre

the best would be fat, since there is 100 % it can be hacked. Slim can also be hacked but if you got a new release with the TA-88 motherboard then you cant.

okay, fat sounds pretty good then. is there any advantage between fat slim core?
also is there a way i can tell if a slim has the "TA-88 motherboard"? because i was gonna go out to ebgames today and talk to them and take a look at a psp.

also what about like pandora's battery? can i just like get one just for the hacking or do i have to use it all the time?

This site is a helpful site but you need to help yourself. All of the above questions have been covered in previous threads and the Ultimate Sticky section. Read those previous threads and stickied threads to gain a better knowledge of the PSP scene.
