Basically i have looked through as many guides as i have seen or been able to find an i was wondering if my psp has firmware 2.5 which im assuming is sony firmware if i would need to downgrade to 1.5 for homebrew, and isos, or do i need to us the mms, and the pandora battery, im really new to the psp and have only had mine for a few days, it is a used fat psp and like i said according to the system section on it it says firmware 2.5 any help would be greatly appreciated and im sorry if this seems to be something that has already been asked.

you don't need the pandora battery,

You can use the 2.50 downgrader which requires GTA:LCS
2.71 - I recommend this one.
2.80 - If the 2.71 downgrader dosen't work
3.03 - Needs GTA
3.50 - Needs GTA

If all dosen't work, then you can use the pandora battery.
