i've got the 40gb ps3 and i just bought a 250gb sata 2.5 hard drive for it...when i turn on the ps3 i get some error saying it couldn't find the software ? is this a formatting problem? i could swear that it's formatted for fat 32...thanks

Sorry if this is wrong, I'm new to PS3 filesystem issues, but I'm trying to repair one for a friend now. I believe you'll need to download the system software from the 'net, burn to CD or DVD and then use that disc to set up the new HDD you have.
