i tried installing ubuntu with my composite RCA cables and i got 100+ errors trying to install it which ended up to be a burning problem but then I finally got an hdmi cord (bought my ps3 used and it didnt come with one =[)it was a 52 dollar belkin hdmi cable (not sure if thats cheap or not) and I tried installing ubuntu but whenever I get to the configuration screen (first option is your language) and the screen will just flash on and off. like it will be black for 2 min+ and then the screen will appear for maybe 5 seconds at most and then go black again. this also happened to me when playing heavenly sword (updated) on 1080i display
