i used to update my psp to every single new custom firmware.
but most of the time, i can't even notice any changes at all.
so right now i'm on 3.90m33-2.
i'm asking people who already got 5.00 cfw : should i update or just stick to 3.90m33???
what kinda of new features do you see? is it worth it?

the new OFW has a "new" theme look (the waves look different)
and the Playstatiom store is now on the PSP <-----my personal favorite

The PS store has been added.
A sleep timer option for when listening to music.
Auto USB connect.
but hey, having the PS store is enough reason for me :P

i just updated to 5.00 m33.
ps store is absolutely useless to me because i can get all that without paying.
but i like the timer very much... i usually listen to mp3's when i sleep then i always get pissed off when i wake up to find out it's been running all night and my battery is all gone.
so timer alone is a good enough reason for me to get 5.00 m33.
i also like the new visualizer in mp3... water effect thing.

non of the xmb replacements for 4.01m33-2 work on 5.00. I just realized this after i upgraded to 5.00. stick with 4.01. =[

IF by custom themes you mean CXMB then no, It hasnt been patched to work with 5.00 m33 yet. You can still use .ptf custom themes but the network thing icon wont change.

Has anyone had trouble with video working on 5.00M33?

I upgraded from 3.90M33 on my phat to 5.00M33 and videos wouldn't even open on the standard video player or my preferred choice of the PMplayer.

I downgraded to 3.71M33 with pandora and mms and all was good - all the way up to 4.01M33. So I'm gonna stick with that for the time being as I watch alot of films on the psp.

Would anyone mind trying this out for me to see if they can play video with 5.00M33? Haven't tried it on my slim, only phat.

not sure if its the best as i dont watch moves on psp just thought i let you no

Mmm - ok.

I've used various apps to convert video files to the psp's Mp4 format - including Super, Xvid4psp and psp video9. I've checked again and all is fine and dandy when running 4.01m33 but doesn't want to know with 5.00m33.

Think I'll wait for any updates to the firmware and try again- not that there is much to interest me with 5.00m33 that the earlier firmwares didn't have.
