You will need the TP hack to install and run apps that are required.

The Homebrew Channel is not required but would make it easier to install and run apps that are required. In order to install The Homebrew Channel you will need to use the TP hack to install it since your system is at 3.3U firmware.

well i saw on another post

that using recovery disk 1.9b wiikey

was a solution.


is that true?

Wiikey updates or recovery disc will not change the Wii firmware.

What issue do you have?

Well

my aim is to downgrade from 3.3U --> 3.2U

BUT

- I updated to 3.3U and now my backups dont work

- I do not have access to TP

- I have not previously installed homebrew channel


Conclusion

once i can get it downgraded

i will install homebrew channel

so i can play out of region games

In order to downgrade you will need to use the TP hack.

If the backups have not been trucha signed then there should be no issue with them playing on 3.3U firmware. More then likely there is some other issue besides the 3.3U update.

You might want to try using the Wiikey recovery disc and then after that upgrade to 1.9s Wiikey firmware.

If you still have issues and want to try downgrading from 3.3U to 3.2U then either download a copy of Twilight Princess and burn it hoping it works. Or rent/borrow/buy a retail copy of the game. There is no way around

I am also interested in downgrading my firmware. currntly i am 3.3u and now none of my bakups play, they do show up in the chnnel window but will not load since the update. I do have the homebrew channel and Tp hack, but TP will not load now. In addition I have duplicate channels of news and weather I would like to get rid of as well. I tried the duplicate channel remover 2.1, but th dik will not read. Please help!

Use GeckoOS/RF and boot it via Homebrew channel. Then boot the game disc/channel remover disc via Gecko OS. For more information on GeckoOS go HERE.

I have tried that with gecko and when the disk loads i get a black screen a string of numbers and the text "code dump". thanks for the help!

I got it to work using the homebrew channel. I just had to rename the dol files to boot and everything went fine. thanks for all the help.
