xbox backup creator quick question

Just hooked up my kreon drive and installed xbox backup creator. In the status box I see all my drives listed including the kreon drive but only my dvd burner can be selected from the drop down box. Is this because I do not have an xbox game inserted in the drive yet? If I insert a game will the kreon drive become available? TIA.

is it an internal version? SO the drive shows up in my computer, but when you have xbc open it doesn't? Have you also tried using schtrom to see if you could back up a game with that? Does that show your kreon drive?

the drive shows up in my computer and is functioning properly. it is an internal drive. i have not yet tried schtrom yet as i have been following the 360 guide so far.
