I'm personally staying on 4.01 m33-2 till all the bugs are worked out of 5.00 m33 and all the homebre is updated to it. From what I know you need 4.01 m33 installed to update to it.

news from #psp-hacks irc channel...

CFW 5.00m33-3 is now supported! and you should be able to upgrade straight to CFW 5.00m33-3 from CFW 3.90m33-2, I did, nothing to it, I have a fatty psp so I also added the 1.50 kernal addon for CFW 5.00m33-3 and also the FATMSMOD for CFW 5.00m33-3 due to my fake card failing half the time with out it.

if you would like to know how either come join us at #psp-hacks on irc via the website or I could post how to from here but 1 on 1 is better so things dont go wrong :)

@ssilver - you can use the network update on the psp to update to the latest cfw. Since cfw 3.80 this has been an option and by default the option is set to this - it's very easy.

Or you can download the firmware from dark-alex - link and follow the instructions in the readme text - this too is easy.

edit to add:
@error55o - let's not use afterdawn as free advertisement for your irc channel.

I'm not advertising but we do get people that dont know how to apply the 150 addon and the FATMSMOD and 1 on 1 is easier and faster than a forum, I did say if he wanted step by step for anything and he wanted it posted here i'll do it. I could say the same about free advertising for DA's site but I wont.

I do agree though, network update to get to CFW 5.00m33-3 is the easiest way
