Replacing unhackable BENQ newb question

I happened to have gotten one of those terrible unhackable BENQ's when i bought my new 360. I decided to buy a replacement Drive SAMSUNG MS28 off of ebay. Would it work as long as i have the serial number to the replacement drive or would i use the serial off of the current console to flash?

I'm sure he meant the Lite-on on drive. Buying an Elite is probably the only way to buy a flashable 360 on the shelves at this point. I still few quite a few older ones in my area.

So there is an unmoddable drive out there?.. That's not what I was told on irc the other night.

who is the op? and yes the lite-on dive is unmodable, you can swap the drive for a modable one, but the lite-on drive itself cannot be modded.

The lite-on drive is moddable. This drive was hacked way back in September. Yes, it is a bitch to mod and you will need to be a lot more knowledgeable than the others. But here is a start:http://www.noeman.org/gsm/microsoft/59920-c4eva-vows-hack-new-xbox-360-lite-drive.html
Obviously if you missed the other thread posted here you wouldn't have searched google. Put a little effort into it if you want to mod so bad.
