So there is this rumor going around that in November you will be able to put games that you have, onto your harddrive. Now believe me this sounds freaken sweet. But, I can't seem to find anywhere that Microsoft Xbox 360 has said this. So was it leeked? Did they really say that? Was it just made up from that nerdy kid down the street trying to start a wide spread panic? I really wish to get to the bottom of this. The main reason why I want to know is because if they do get this update, all of games for the 360 are going to change drastically. I mean if you can put games onto your drive, wouldn't that mean I could go to Family Video/Blockbuster/Any place and rent a game and basically steal it? I'm thinking they'll probably have to add like a key to each game. So it can only be put on the drive once. But then couldn't you just put a game without a key on it. I dont know this is a really iffy topic. If anyone knows anything, fill us in.

The update lets you install games on the harddrive, but it checks to see if the disc is in the drive before playing it.To make it perfectly clear it will use both the harddrive and the disc drive,so renting the game and putting it on the harddrive will not work unless you have the disc as well.

MS stated this in one of their press releases about the update coming on Nov. 19th. and you have to have the original disc in your 360 dvd drive in order to put the game on the HD, and to play the game off the HD. so either way you have to have the game, so your whole BB/family video theft scheme wont work.

useless post...dang you burna, beat me by a few seconds....lol.

Aw man, you couldn't have looked too hard.

This has been news for quite awhile now. It is true. But the games won't change. You can play from the hdd, but the disc has to be in the drive at start up to verify you do have the original. The drive will spin up, read the security info, then spin down and sit idle while you play your game.

Haha lol well I guess the answer is very clear then wabashman if he doesn't understand what all of us said then he never will. Its kind of pointless though the harddrive feature to be honest, but I don't know maybe they are gonna use it for something else besides storing games on it.If its for speeding up loading times then its not real quick from what I heard.

ya i hear you on the pointless update, especially for us that have the 20 gig drive, and dont feel like hacking the HD to put in the scorpio drive. since even then you could only have like 15 games or so on there, and you still have to get up to put in the discs. it would be nice if someone made a master disc that had all the boot requirements on it, and then found out how to load the games off an external drives. that way i could just pop out my TB HD from my pc with all my games on it and have some serious fun.

but i guess it will have less wear and tear on the dvd drive, but then again, it will add more wear and tear on the HD.

Yeah man that would be cool bro,but can you use a Tera on the XBox 360.I thought they limit the space you could use to 120Gig,not sure about an external hd.I think this is one thing that seperates the Xbox 360 from the PS3,and I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything.I just like the fact that you can pop in any harddrive into the PS3 and have no size restrictions.Hey wabashman do you have a guide on the hack for taking a 20gig harddrive and making it something big like a 120gig by getting a scorpio. If its not available hook us up with a guide bro, because I wouldn't mind checking that out.

I really don't know if it will be worth it, like you said, to install games on the hard drive. I watched the video comparing the load times, and it just didnt seem big enough for me to really care to install it.
