I have a Wii thats "most likely" has a D2C key. I also have a TSSTcorp TS-H653L drive. Recently I tried to burn mario kart but the wii was "unable to read disc". So instead of using Maxell, I used TDK and it still didn't work. So I downloaded the same game from another source and tried both dvds and it didn't work. *note both the games were the exact same size. So one day I brought my friend over and he put his game in there and it work. After he said maybe it was the firmware so he put his wiikey update in there and it didn't update. I really don't have any idea what to do, I tried everything. What am I doing wrong?!?!

IMHO, the first thing that you're doing wrong is not knowing what modchip you have.
Once you find that out, you can ask some reasonable questions and get some reasonable answers.
Until then, you and everyone else is just guessing.
BTW, did you try one of your burns in your friend's console? That in itself would narrow it down quite a bit.

Well, If is burns work on yours and yours don't work on his, it pretty well narrows it down to your burning environment.
Consensus says:
imgburn
4x
Verbatim or TY DVD-R
Yes, others will chime in to say that there are other working combinations, and I have had pretty good success with Memorex DVD-R, but have since changed to Verbatim and TY since they're not that expensive in the quantities that I buy.
Until you get one working burn your entire rig is suspect.
You could also have a DVD writer that is dying.

Nah, not yet. lol I still haven't got it to work yet. I'm I didn't want to wait so I just ask my friend to burn some games for me but I'm still looking around and asking. I'll tell you if I get anywhere with this.

Could be the burner. My Wii won't read discs that are burnt with my own Samsung dvd-burner but when I use my dad's older Pioneer it works without a hitch. Same iso, same settings, same discs.....just different burner....

DVD-RW are the LEAST likely to work.
DVD-R
Verbatim or TY
Imgburn
4X writing speed
These are all consensus opinions. I don't wan't to say exactly how many backups I've burned, but I'm on my 3rd spindle of TY after 4 spindles of Verbatim and 2 of Memorex. Less than 5 coasters using a Sony PATA and a Pioneer SATA drive.
