Hitachi to Benq spoof help!

Ok so I sent my Benq drive (march 08 version) to be moded (which the guy said it's modable) it took a month and the guy sent me a hitachi drive saying it was spoofed but whenever I put in backups or originals it says (Please insert game into 360) or something like that it plays movies and such but no backups or originals. Can someone please tell me how I fix this, or do I need my original key back or do I need my original drive with it's original key because it's not modable. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I also tried to make a slax cd but if it's a spoofed hitachi to benq do I need slax for benq or slax for hitachi and if it doesn't read backups or originals would it even read slax I honestly don't know what to do

i would be calling this guy up and asking why he swapped out your drive for a crappy hitachi one and never flashed it. because it sounds to me that he didnt flash it if it wont play originals or burnts but it does play movies. and as to the second part, yes, you need your original drive back in order to flash this hitachi one.

I see what you're saying but why would the hitachi drive read any cd/dvd if it wasn't spoofed/compatible with my benq motherboard

because the drives dont have to be matched with the mobo in order to read cds/movies. they just have to be matched to read games. so if you have a different drive in there that does not contain the original drives FW all you have is a 400 dollar dvd player pretty much.
