I noticed that this pin was missing from the sata port on both the 360's i have with rrod. I was wondering if this could be causing it.

That's your power. The other cable is the sata. But anyhow, there is no pin there from the factory. So that's not your problem. What error code do you have?

okay thanks i wasn't sure..it looked kind of skeptical.

Im not sure of the error code because the video won't come on..

The system was working before I flashed, and i flashed 2 other systems w/ the same drive and the process was identical..so i at first thought somehow the flash caused it..but i guess it was just its time..off to the xbox graveyard!! until i can do the x-clamp mod.

No video needed for the error code. You get it through the rind of lights.

Keeping the sync button pressed in the whole time, press the eject button 4 times, taking note of how many lights are flashing in between each press.

0 = 4 lights
1 = 1 light
2 = 2 light
3 = 3 lights

Then just Google "360 error codes".

I am pretty sure the error is 0023, but i guess this error has not yet been deciphered.

eh try the penny fix and then try the xclamp fix. I've had two consoles with error codes not explained that i fixed, so it is possible.
