I just found an Iso called the "Wii Backup Disc 1.31" on usenet and I'm wondering if anyone has any more info yet on what it may be able to do. This may be somethinjg interesting to keep an eye on...

It doesn't look like it is much. It seems it is used by Nintendo to transfer mostly saved games between wii consoles.

It would be pretty sweet if this was capable of allowing users to roll back their firmware. It may very well be useless, but it's worth keeping an eye on.

Err. you already can roll back your firmware if you really feel the need with the downgrader.

I have yet to use that. Although I haven't updated my wii from 3.2u, so I have no need yet... I'm sure I will soon.
