OK. So I've followed the steps on opening up my battery.

But when I open it up, the circuit board is located at the top of the battery.

No problem. I found the images to copy from. But slight problem. My circuit board is different to the ones I have seen in tutorials/guides.

I googled the battery details and found this photo on Flickr that shows the circuit board

The forum that it was linked from suggested that perhaps the battery was a fake sony battery. But nothing else was said in the thread.

Now my friend bought a PSP when they first came out and has the same battery (that came with the psp) so I'm not so sure it was fake.

So where is the pin I'm supposed to pull? any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Its a very good tutorial to hardmodding and restoring your battery using a pencil...I used this guide and it worked perfectly, I hard-mod and restore whenever I feel like without any worries...
The video is blurry, but you will get clear pictures after an explanation halfway through the video

Sorry. But that didn't help whatsoever. Different battery again in that video.

If you look at the picture I linked, you will see that the circuit board is at the top of the battery. Not down the side or anything like that.

And the pin I have to remove, is no-where to be seen.

It's starting to annoy me a little :(
