I just bought a presoldered D2Pro wii chip for my wii. I believe it's a D2C2 but there's a slight chance it may be a D2C. My burner is a Nec DVDRW 2500A. I have nero 5 or 6 and I use memorex DVD+R. I have read a lot of things about wii chips and backups and it seems like the more I research the more confused I get.

I'd really like to know step by step how to burn wii games. An example of some types of games I'd like to burn are:Super smash bros, legend of zelda, star wars, rock band, resident evil, metroid prime 3,mario cart, etc. I heard Smash bros you need a dual layer disc. I don't know how to burn a dual layer disc or a single layer for that matter. If you can help please PM or answer in this thread. TIA

You install imgburn, open imgburn, put the disk in the drive, open the iso in imgburn, and then hit the burn button. Its a pretty simple process.

Smash bros can be a little more complex to burn, but luckily theres a whole thread devoted just to that game.

1. You have to make sure you have the ISO of the Game

2.You should Install Wiibrickblocker if the game is not the same region as your Wii ex. you want to play a Ntsc Game on your Pal Console

3. Patch the game using Wiibrickblocker to be sure your wii doesnt BRICK

4.After that u should use IMGBURN to burn the ISO modified to a blank DVD (best use Vrbatim or Sony DVD)
burn the Game at 4x speed to ensure the Quality of the Game.

5.Put the DVD in your Wii and enjoy

I hope this would be useful

Dude, you have to understand people are not going to spell out a step by step way of burning games for you. We are faced with newbs every single day asking for the same exact information. YOU need to do some of the work and search to find the information, because I know for a fact that it is in the forum.

If we were to explain this everytime someone asked, we would have hundreds of threads of step by step guides on how to backup a game. That is just a waste of time and space.

From now on, search first.

No, its the same as its always been. You could always use any drive to burn a game. The disks could only be RIPPED by specific LG drives.

Burning with imgburn on default settings does work just fine. More likely you're having a different problem, like bad media or a bad rip. Could be any number of other problems though.

You'll probably have better luck with DVD-R and you don't booktype them. If all you have is +R, then your Lite-On drive's booktype can be set in the Lite-On tab in Imgburn. You have to have a +R disc in the tray when setting the booktype. Leave Nero alone, use Imgburn.

I never burn at 4x or 2,4x or 1x speed. All the games I used imgburn to burn with 2,4x all didn't work.
I now use Nero with speed maximum
