I am new to psp and had a problem as soon as it came out of the box.It came bundled with a game and as soon as the game loads it tells me to update the firmware to 3.95 or i will not be able to play the game.I have heard that there is a firmware which when installed stops the installation of cfw....is this true ? Do i go ahead and install the firmware on the game or wait until i have installed cfw.Your reply would be appreciated.

What version are you on right now? It most likely will not make a difference, but don't update until you've checked. It might be on a lower firmware that may not need a pandora's battery. Probably not though, but doesn't hurt to check.

As far as i can tell (by looking on the letter on the box) it is version 2

Okay well go to the main menu and go to the settings. Then go to system settings and system information and check there.

Then you're going to need a pandora's battery to downgrade. There are plenty of guides in this section showing you how to do that. Good luck.
