My local pawn shop has 4 or 5 used PSP's and I plan on buying one tomorrow. What should I look for as far as being able to mod it? Do I just check the firmware version? I plan on buying the Pandora battery. Thanks for any help.

yep... look for firmware lower than 4 ...

really you have little chance of getting an unmoddable PSP from a pawn shop... the unhackable ones are those brand new and just being released...
