you can play it with the normal fan. I did the x-clamp fix last year & never changed the fan. I haven't had a any problems since the fate full day last year

You should google the "fan shroud mod". It's a simple thing to do and it helps.

XBOX Halo Ed. = DuoX2 w/250gb HD
Xbox 360 Red Elite 120GB HDD = no-stealth 1.6 & XBReboot V3 & 1TB usb hdd
PS2 Slim = freemcboot v1.8 - PSP Black Slim = 5.00m33-6
Wii = w/ Blue XCM ii-case, Wiikey2 & softmodded

I think copper is talking about the mod where you take wire cutters and cut the back metal mesh that is between the case and the fans. This will really increase the airflow, I also put tin foil around the top of the gpu and the cpu and try to seal between the air tunnel and the heatsinks. You will notice a big difference in the amount of air the fans are pulling out, and sadly it makes the stock fans louder.

it can but it really isn't likely to if you do it right the first time. If you do the xclamp fix and the fan mod you shouldn't have any problems besides maybe the laser going bad. The rrod is a heat issue and if you reduce the heat you're less likely to have hardware failures.

That's a good one too and I do it on all the RROD's I fix but I was talking about where you use something like an index card to create a partition between the fans and the heatsinks so that one fan is dedicated to each heatsink. It pulls more heat away from the gpu heatsink once it's installed.
