Yesterday I tried installing the solderless d2pro chip. I managed to do everything right- the blue led flashed and everything was fine, but when I was about to close the machine, I thought itd be wise to test the machine before closing it- red light only, and it didnt go off. The drive didnt take in or eject anything while the chip was on. When I took it off, everything wotked fine. Could it be that the chip (or should I say wii clip) is damaged? I took it on and of like 8-10 times.
be super careful when taking the wii clip off, go to wiiclip.com or something like that and there is a guide on how to take it off, taking it off wrongly can result in a broken clip, anyway solder the j point and then tell me what happens
You could have one of two problems. With a D2B chip you only must solder 5 pads of the clip. The others have to be isolated. If you have a D2C with a D2Pro V3 it could be that you need to downgrade the D2Pro to V2.3. This is the problem I had. It worked a bit with the wire instead of the solderbridge but it works perfect with a reprogrammed D2pro.
The thing is, it worked perfectly; blue light flashed and everything seemed normal, but when I was about to close it, something went wrong- the red light means somethings wrong, right? Will it be ok if I take the chip off the wii clip and solder the wires? The whole idea with the solderless clip was to keep the guarantee.
The red light is on when switching on the WII. After trying to insert a disk the P2pro synchronises with the drive chip. If synchronisation fails the red light will stay on. Sometimes it wil synchronise after minutes or so. Try to open the solder bridge and connect the one wire to the J point. This helped me to synchronise somewhat better. After installing V2.3 to the D2pro everything is fine.
