Problems getting HEN-D working on TA-082 2.71 FW

I'm trying to downgrade to 1.50 and then install cfw. From the tutorials I've read I need to run HEN-D. I've followed the instructions which stated to copy the contents of the MS_ROOT folder to the mem stick root. Then I'm supposed to open the Hend folder and open the rand.jpg. This is supposed to give me a blue screen, then either a red or green screen. I've openned the rand.jpg 20+ times and I have yet to see a blue screen. I don't even see the light flashing indicating my mem stick is trying to load/access something.

Wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if there is a step I'm missing. I've downgraded 2 other PSPs successfully, but this is my first TA-082 downgrade.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Try 2.71 first. If it dosent work then use the 2.80

Instead of going to the HEND image and opening it, go to PHOTO/MEMEORY STICK and then press triangle and choose the slideshow view. This usually helps boot HEND.

I appreciate the help. After another 20+ attempts on 2.71, I've updated to 2.80 and trying that process. Still no luck. Don't remember HEN being this unstable, but maybe I got lucky the other times.
