1Q. So I just flashed my Hitachi 78 successfully :) happy
but I was having a lot of trouble but in the end it works!
anyways now I'm wondering did I use the correct firmware as far as the least likely to get banned:
Is this the newest?
Hitachi-GDR3120L -0078 - [iXtreme :78:V1.4-8x]

2Q. My xbox sounds a bit different now. its not as loud as before,
when I'm playing a game.
Is that bad?

3Q. This is my fourth xbox, the previous 3 have all had the RROD.
I dont want this to happen again since I just voided the warrenty. So
I was reading somewhere that when the xbox gets to hot the solder points disconnect and give a hardware malfunction, this is the RROD.
So do these cooler things I see at Best Buy that hook on the back actually work to lower the temp in the xbox to not cause a RROD?

4Q. Whats the difference between Xecuter's Blaster360 and the Connectivity Kit V3 Pro, Don't they do the same thing. I was thinking of getting one or the other

1. yes you used the correct most up to date firm
2. you used the 8x firmware normally the 360 runs at 12x (aka reads a 12 times the spead of 1x). The only thing bad is your load times shall be longer.
3. yes they should though you could buy an internal fan since you obviously opened the thing.
4. not sure.

If you do this to the back of your 360 they will sound like different fans and flow a lot more air. Just use wire cutters to clip the metal sections, to make it smooth take some needle nose pliars and bend the sharp edges in towards the fan.

You can also get a different fan
Check here

You can also add fans, here's my elite i recently did.

I used xcm v2 fans

Keeping the console cool is half the battle.

2. With original discs, the dvd drive speed will differ between 1x up to 12x, depending on what is being read from the disc. So quite often, your drive was quiet. Now that you flashed it with 8x, when backups are being played, the speed stays constant. So now it'll seem louder to you.

3. Why didn't you save your warranty sticker? But yes, most cooling devices will help the 360.

4. Because you have a Hitachi 78, neither of those devices would be of any use to you. Both would serve no other purpose than to power your drive when flashing. You couldn't use either to get in mode b.
