What kind of games are you talking about?
PSP games ran from the UMD?
PSP games in iso/cso format?
Emulator game saves?
PSX saves?

Specify plz.

if it's not magicgate supported, then it's fake. there's your reason for corruption.

only thing to do is get a new memory stick, preferably from a retail store.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

I'm assuming you have your games saved to your PC.
I'd suggest going to ms0:\PSP and make a backup of your SAVEDATA folder onto your desktop (and any other files you want backed up.)
Alternately you can just plug in your PSP, go to the root directory, copy EVERYTHING, make a folder on your desktop called "PSP Backup", and paste everything in there to do an entire backup of your mem stick (this would be the route I would go).

Now disconnect your psp from your pc, go to Settings in the XMB menu, down to System Setings, and down to Format Memory Stick.

Try that. When you're finished go to Photos, down to Memory Stick and press Triangle then Information.

Is MagicGate supported now?

If so, plug your psp back into the pc and copy all of those files from PSP Backup back onto your mem stick.

If MagicGate isn't supported, then you most likely will need a new mem stick.

a format will not make it magicgate supported. a fake is a fake; you cannot change it. period.

This is true but I'm just going off the hopeful assumption that it's just some odd glitch.

Trying will not harm a thing. And having a backup of his files will be helpful if he DOES have to buy a new mem stick :)
