Ok, here's the deal. My PSP worked fine until one day i had a windows system error and that made windows crash, then it didnt start so i had to reinstall it, so i did.
Well, after that was done, my PSP simply does not appear in my pc, but, the computer detects their conection, since its doing that weird "beep" sound it does when a usb is conected and the psp also appears in "safely remove hardware", but its not creating the digital folder in my pc, which is the only way to enter the usb and put stuff into it.
I can connect my phone without any trouble, so its really weird.
just in case usbstor.sys, disk.sys, and partmgr.sys are all in /system32/drivers , so it cant be that either. Also, im using a usb cord to connect, and just in case, the cord isnt the problem either, i just know its the pc.
Laterz...

Have you attempted to connect your PSP to a different PC other then the one that crashed out from the system error?
Doing so will at least give you guidance on where the problem lies.
Also putting your mem stick in another computer that has a sony memory stick slot (or one of those all in one card readers for example) will tell you if it's card related.
Simple troubleshooting helps a lot when making these posts. Try it and get back to me on what you find. We can go from there.
You know I give you the mad, phat, superfly, stupid-dope, dumb-ass, retarded, bomb-sh*t props!
What else do you want from me!?!

Oh yeah, i forgot to say that i tried conecting to another computer and it worked just fine, the psp appeared just fine in my pc, and yes, i have tried conecting the memory stick itself on another computer and it also works. I dont know if saying this helps but my digital camera's memory doesnt appear either, but my phone's does. What else... No thats all, any more suggestions?
Im quite sure the problem lies in my computer, not the psp or its memory. But i dont know what my computer is missing. Just in case, my computer is running windows XP home edition service pack 2.

Sounds like your computer's having troubles recognizing your memory storage units via usb.
As for a fix, here's what I'd suggest.
Open up your device manager. Plug in your psp and activate the usb connection. You should get a new option towards the bottom called "Storage Volumes" and after expanding it you get "Generic volume".
If you don't get "Generic Volume" then check to see if you get something that says "Unknown Device". Otherwise go up to "Other Devices" and see if there's an "Unknown Device" there with a yellow question mark on it.
If you see it then right click it and do "Update Driver". It should pop up a hardware update wizard. I would suggest selecting "Install the software automatically" and click next.
Now let it sit till it finishes or until a few minutes have gone by. When I tried to duplicate this it cause the wizard to hang right before completing but after i told the psp to disconnect from the PC it finished.
Now reboot your computer, log back in, and reconnect your psp.
Problem solved? Let me know.
Cheers.
