Hi Guys I got a pal wii, with wiikey, running latest update 3.3e.
The problem i got is i got hold of a couple of games super paper mario, super smash bros brawl already burned to discs, not sure which region they are on.

When i put them into my wii it just says wii system update in the top left box, is it safe to let the system update or just discard the discs and try again??

Any help will be very gratefully appreciated, as i am fairly new to this.

Thanks

The reason they're asking to update is because they're from a different region as your wii. They're probably NTSC-U games so they check for the U update, dont see it and try to run the update.

Of course your wii already has 3.3E so it will use the later firmware regardless of region. So everything should still work, but you'll have duplicate channels.
