Red screen with Chinese Wii problem on HDTV

Hi, I got a Wii from China and when I plug it into my Sony HDTV i get a red screen. it works fine on my old Panasonic TV. any suggestions on what I can do to fix it?

I imagine its the cables you are using.

What type of connection are you using to connect to your tv ?

i have both the Scart and the 3 pin. the 3 pin gives me a black and white screen and the scart a red screen. I'm using port 1 for the scart and port 3 for the 3 pin. I also tried going into the settings menu for screen and it only allows me to use the bottom choice. I believe top one is HDTV but I can't select it. I'm using version 3.0J.

any help is appreciated. as mentioned it works fine on the old TV.

actually it looks like i managed to updated to 3.3J last night, I'm seeing the version up on top right of 1st settings page and it is 3.3J.
