Im using Wiigators Backup Launcher 0.3 beta. on a NTSC-Usa Wii.

But when i play games i always get a could not read disk error plese check wii manual.

Mario Kart - Regionfrii (Changed it to NTSC) also used Wii Brick Blocker on it. After i load my profile a few second later i get the above error. Also i ahve to Force this into NTSC. And Ive tried changing all settings, using Gamecube controller ect. Still fails.

Also mario kart original version running PAL, used Wii Brick Blocker, i cant even load my profile before i get the above error.

Zelda Twilight Princess - After loading i get the above error automatically.

Im buring the wii games using Imgburn at 4x burning speed. These are also 1:1 copies.

I am using Cios36 Rev 06 w/ Backup Support, and Backup Launcher 0.3 beta. I also have dvdx installed. I also have Ios36-64-v1042.wad installed. Im also using 3.3 Firmware version. Im using the latest beta 9 HBC or w/e.

It all installed correctly, but i still can get past that disc error to play games.

How do i fix it, any suggestions? am i missing anything?

Please Help me!

after installing the ios36-64-1042 zelda twilight princess works perfect. mario kart still wont

EDIT: Well Zelda boots only about 1/10 times but when it does boot it works perfect. So the Cios apparently didn't do anything.

ill be posting more information as i get ideas and suggestions to try.

you have to install the new cIOS for backup launcher V3 to work..guessing that you have since it is working..are those games patched(for the previous version by wiigator)? if so..i had to try a few of mine a few times to get it to read..read on version 1..but on version 3, my patched discs, take a few times before they read correctly..

As i posted above these are 1:1 copies and are not decrypted. Wiigator 0.3 Does not require decrypting games anymore.

What media are you using?

This very well could be your problem. It seems everything is set up properly and it launches the game.

It is kind of hard to pin point the issue since the Backup Launcher is so new to the scene. But I would first start by changing the media and see if that helps out.

I did read that the new version 3 beta does have issues with older games (it uses older IOS for the game and the code needs improvement to handle it) so this also could be the issue.

i've had issues with burning at 4x's..been burning at 2.4x's and reads better..wait are you loading it from the normal disc channel that you load original games from? or are you going through the HBC and loading it from the .dol(backup launcher) file?

im loading it from the hbc the dol file. also im gonna try using Verbatim dvd-r disks to burn with and burn at 2.4x or 4x if i cant do 2.4x so hopefully that will fix the problem. Ive heard verbatim dvd-r are really good is this true?

Verbatim, Tayio Yuden or Ritek should be acceptable media. Just stay away from the value line type om the above media. Make sure you get premium or above. Use ImgBurn at 4X (or half the rated burn speed).

is magnavox any good thats what ive been using their also dvd+r and ive been getting tons of disc reading errors but they work perfect for xbox games (original not 360)

What is the Manufactures ID of the Media?

You can find out by starting ImgBurn and placing in a blank DVD. In the right hand window that shows all the information should include the Manufacturers ID. Then go HERE and look it up. You should only use media that is 1st class. Even then you still could have issues with compatibility with the Wii drive. I would still suggest using one of the above brands I recommended.

is all i could find and thats the Disc id is that what i was looking for?

also i couldnt find it in that place but i found cmc magnetics it said 2nd class.

I would try a different brand.

Have you booktype the media your using now to DVD-ROM? If not try to do this by selecting the book icon (bottom right of ImgBurn) and select your burner brand tab (if it is listed) then select DVD+R media under "CHANGE FOR" and under "NEW SETTING" select DVD-ROM

also my burner is not listed in the book thing

also the media i mentioned is listed as second class :(

IMPORTANT: Burned Pokemon Revolution to this media the magnavox 2.4x and it launched perfect and ten mins in is working great!

Mario kart 2.4x wont even load gives me the disk error!

Any ideas why this is?

Because the media can be inconsistent. One DVD might be fine the next might not. You need better quality media that is more consistent and is easier for the Wii to read. There is also differences in the dye that each brand uses. So the better quality uses better dye that last longer also.

If your DVD drive isn't in the list for booktyping then it isn't compatible or it will burn DVD+R media as DVD-ROM as default. DVD-ROM is better compatible for systems.

So try better media.

Also keep in mind that not all the games will be playable and issue free when using the Backup launcher. It is in BETA and can take time to work issues out. In the mean time you can go HERE for a list of games that work and do not work with the Backup loader (the list could be different since WiiGators BETA version 3 has been released).

I just went and got some Sony Dvd-r their listed as first class media i also checked that site you gave me so hopefully these work thanks
