Okay so the short version of my accident is that I was showering when my girlfriend came into the bathroom. She wasn't paying attention to my psp on the sink and she hit it. . . and into the toilet it went. . . I immediately reached in and grabbed it. The battery cover is missing so at least the battery came out upon impact. So, as soon as I was able to I took the PSP apart and dried out the various parts. . . It comes on and everything works great in the XMB, but as soon as I load a game or try to use the internet it will not respond to any button presses except the bottom row of keys from the "home bar" I'll call it that. . . So I am totally at a loss as to why everything works normally in XMB, but not in game. . . Oh and when I try to enter text into the internet it will continually press the right key making it impossible to input anything. . . If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate the help. I am running custom 5.00 m33-3 on my psp

wow that sucks...sorry but are you asking for how to fix a psp thats been dropped in the water? because its painfully obvious that there is not sure way to fix it other then time for drying which as you've noticed its only partially working and replacing the affected hardware
and not to be an a** or state the obvious but this is why you don't bring your favorite electronics near the water, clumsy friends or both.
there is a number of software things you can do like resetting flash1 or your firmware and even idstorage but chances are its the hardware thats bad

That is what I was thinking, but I have given ample time to allow to dry. The buttons work perfectly in the user interface. . . It is only when I go into the games themselves and try to play anything. . . I'll try flashing first, if that doesn't work I can always replace hardware like you suggested. As far as bringing it near water. . . hind-sight is 20/20. LOL, but thanks for the post

Hmm... hardware problem?
How? I dun understand. If it works perfectly in XMB.
Why not games? I guess the system files may be corrupted.
True. Try format ur flash and settings.
If it still doesn't work... upgrade? I'm not sure.

Is ur PSP a PSP phat or slim?
If it's a phat, there's a lot of hardware replacements on EBAY.
