Need Help with Pandora and 3.9 CFW and upgrading!

Ok, this is a bit of a long story but I'll try to make it short.

I have a phat psp with 3.9 M33-3 installed and have played many games without problems.

I had a friend ask me to do the same to his so I went to the forums and looks some tutorials up and thought "no problem"

So I downloaded the OS pandora battery tool .52 to check my battery to ensure it was in service mode. It wasn't so I put it in service mode. Immediately thereafter it won't start up and it does the pandora green light on only thing. I replaced the battery with a good normal batter powered it on and place the pandora battery back in. Using the OS pandora battery tool I changed it back over to a normal battery and it's doing the same exact thing. So again I do the whole using a normal battery and run the program again and this time convert it into a autoboot battery. This seems to do the trick as I can start up the psp and play all my games from the stick.

What it doesn't help me with is upgrading my friends psp. I did manage to get his to OFW 1.5 but can't get the damn thing to upgrade to any CFW at all...I've converted my battery to Pandora, used 3 different tutorials to make a magic memory stick and still nothing happens when I put these two into my friends psp. I just don't understand what it is I'm doing wrong. Someone please take pity on me and help a brotha out!!

If you have his PSP at 1.50 OFW update it to 3.52 M33 then 3.52 M33-4 using this guide HERE. Then you can update to any firmware above that.

THANK YOU!!! I yell because I'm happy happy happy!! I've got it up to 3.80 M33 and I think I'm going to stop there because it'll play Madden 09 and that's one of the newest games out there....anyway thanks....

sac hi there how did you get around the problem with the battery im having the same problem it wont start the psp running 3.52 ofw help plz

I converted it to and autoboot battery using the OS Pandora battery tool that you can google. Just plug in the psp turn it on put the battery back in, run the tool and convert it to the autoboot one and it'll be fine.

sorry bud for being a pain but it just boots to the main screen and when i attempt to install cfw its says error game could not be started (8002014c) any ideas

So do you have a pandora, a normal or an autoboot battery?

If you have a Pandora then you can upgrade/downgrade most PSP's to 4.01 M33 using despertar7.

If you have an Autoboot battery then try converting it to a pandora.

If a normal then convert to a pandora.

Make sure it is an official Sony battery! otherwise wont work or end in brick... And I recommend leaving it a pandora battery in case the PSP bricks...
