Recently bought a modded wii from a retailer, he gave a copy of Zelda which works fine but when i burn ISO's downloaded from the net, Wii gives an error, Invalid disk and stops.
I have tried searching all the topics in the forum but nothing is working for me, Is there a way to find what modchip is installed in my Wii so that I can be sure where exactly is the problem.
I have already burnt atleast 5-6 DVDs using different good branded medias..
1)Did you try asking your retailer?
2)Did you try matching the Wii's S/N to narrow it down?
3)Did you try update disks (trial and error)
Knowing what your modchip is is only a small part of the issue.
Missing info:
Are you sure that your .isos are good? Did you check that they are the right size?
What media? (different good branded medias.. ) is not really a precise answer
Did you try any of your burns on someone else's system?
Did you use imgburn at 4x?
OK, how about this? Since you have one good working backup, did you try making a backup of that disc and burning it? This will tell you pretty quickly whether or not you can burn off of a known good .iso.
Checked with my retailer, he has no idea, he told he imports them from malaysia.
Didn't try S/N, i thought that will give me Wii's default rom version.
No, haven't tested any update disk, throwing a light on this will be helpful
All ths iso's I have downloaded are exactly 4.37 GB, so I trust they must be OK, converted them to NTSC using wiifreeregion or some tool like that (I have tested without changing the region as well)

Tested MoserBaer, Verbatim, Sony all DVD-R Did you try any of your burns on someone else's system?
--- Unforunately/Fortunately I am the only one in my friend circle who has a modded Wii, my friends have PAL Wiis
Did you use imgburn at 4x?
--- Yes tried imgburn at 1x, 4x, 8x and auto speed

--- I guess to backup WiiDVD, i need a LG DVD burner, which I don't have and which may take a little more effort.
Hey, Thanks a lot guys for the help.
It was the ###@!# media which was the culprit, bought a new set of SonyDVD-R and it worked like a charm.
Anyway many thanks for the help.
