Hi there,
I just got a new phone with Windows Mobile 6.1 on it and began playing with syncing it to my e-mail inboxes. I use Windows Live mail and access both a Hotmail (Windows Live Mail for you picky ones out there) and my Uni mail account, being HTTP and IMAP mail servers respectively.
As soon as the phone synced it copied over my contacts from my Live Mail address. Useful, except theyre just e-mail adresses and I wanted phone numbers too. Thinking it had just copied them, I deleted them all from the phone only to see them disappear off my Live Messenger list in front of my eyes!!!
That's ok though, because the 'Privacy' tab under 'Options' has a list of every e-mail address I've ever added.
I made sure I had all the details organised properly then imported it into Live Mail. The problem now is that I have the choice to import my contact list from either Outlook or Live Mail and neither of them quite do it right;
Live Mail - Will copy accross my contacts with all details, but the e-mail address in the 'IM' field doesnt appear in the phone entry, so I'd gave to add each person to Live Messenger individually (which I'm trying to avoid doing). Also, it puts people's surnames first (which I don't like) and they can only be reversed individually too.
Outlook - Will copy across my contacts with all details, and the names the right way round - but then even though it has e-mail addresses in the 'IM' field, it doesn't use them for Live Messenger :o(
I would just add the e-mail addys again in Live Messenger on my PC, but then it creates a new entry in Live Mail and consequently in my phone when it syncs.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance!!!
