I swear, karma hates me.

I have got my Xbox 360 sucessfully modified on the BenQ drive with modded firmware. I got the DL Verbatrim CD's, and a dual layer burner. I just finished "backing up" Fable 2. Now.. when I go to burn it- I read that I need to change bitsetting to dvd-rom. I get DVDINFO HD to do it, and it says my drive doesn't support it ;(

It's a HP DVD Writer 740b
It's a lightscrabe, DL burner.

So.. does this mean I HAVE to buy a new drive? Is there any way around this?

just try burning it ... most of the bitsetting stuff is done automatically by the software such as imageburn

i've burned numerous titles and never fiddled with any bitsetting stuff

I was told in the past bitsetting is required to play online to the 360 reads it as a dvd-rom

i believe image burn can do it for you. as there are setting for both changing the book type to dvd-rom and in settings(in write) for changing the bitsetting manually

What is the exact model of DVD drive that you have?

I finished flashing my drive yesterday and burnt my first backup (Fable 2) and it worked fine. I had to use the BenQ Booktype Management program for my Philips DVDr16LS drive.

If you have the same type of drive as me, sounds like it's possible, then download the BenQ Booktype Management program (sorry, link lost :( but I got it in less than 5 minutes using google).

If you have not got this drive then google the make of your drive with the word booktype setting.
