i have a ms25 drive, i've downloaded the propriate firmware ( a 256kb called ix14-8x.bin) and using iprep i made a usb disc and entered to the kill smile.gif
first i read the original firmware using dsam file called SAM-OFW is saved in my computer
and than i did the fsam it went ok flashed four banks but when i put a backup it gives me the message " unplayable disc" ( i verified the backup with store flashed xbox and it's alright)
i tried to restore it with rsam and original firmware but it wouldn't work
i kept looking and found the 0800 disc made it burnt it and with it i managed to to rsam (tough i had to keep xbox on when choosing sata port)
i supposed that i have my original firmware now and when i tried to to use iprep again it would not flash. I had to use the 0800 disc trick again...........................

i later tried (using the 0800 trick) to flash it using mtkflash w /m /sata orig, than firmtool and than mtkflash again (hacked) and it flashed
but bottom line xbox won't read backups keeps saying unplayable disc
(does read my originals tough)

well your post was pretty poorly written, so I can make a guess though.

It sounds like your flashing job is what's bad. If your drive plays originals, and other 360 consoles can play backups that you made, but yours won't, then it something wrong with the flash job you did.

What type of drive do you have? Also, you just might as well reflash it.

I have a samsung m25
i first used the iprep method where the program makes you a bootable usb and i just followed the instructions.
everything went alright but it wouldn't play backups.

i tried to re-flash it again with iprep but this time it wouldn't
what would happened is that i chose the correct sata drive but flashing wouldn't start.
that happened because firmguard was turned on when i first flashed it thus transforming my ms25 to ms28

i managed to disable it firm the 0800 disc and tried to re-flash it again this time using two programs called mtkflash and firmtools

flashing went OK but system wouldn't read backups

my question is what did i do wrong?

I really don't know what you did. You problem is your flashing job. You just need to follow textbook's guide step by step and use it to flash the drive.

Hello
turned out that my backup was wrong
i reflashed the drive and checked another backup i have
and it played it
so i played a bit to see that everything is alright
i recconected the xbox in it's place and decided to play a bit
but dvd drive wouldn't react it won't eject and i believe laser didn't turn on.

i believe it died
the question is why? and if anyone knows the reason- did the flashing (that works) caused it and is there a fix
