hitachi 59 drive key (for installing a new drive)

anyone to point me to a tutorial on how to find the necessary key to install a new disc drive get kudos ;-).

i have a hitachi disc drive that is very unreliable, so i am going to buy a disc drive and have the seller flash the FW before he sends it, he said he needed my key... so i have to find it. thanks for any help all.

you have to extract it using the firmware tool box. you need to read the stickys and guides, you have alot of reading to do in a short period of time.

cool, thanks for the reply. couldnt imagine it being much harder than the mod itself, but ill give it a go.

EDIT: looked through the stickies and i didnt see anything about finding your drive key. 360mods.net is apparently down. so any links or info is great, thanks.

there was a whole pack of tools that was released into the scene recently... look for::
