Hey guys, I am missing the 360 inline release cable on my Guitar Hero Guitar, I am looking around and its a pain in my ass to find a cable that is cheap, I mine as well buy a new cable. Is there a way I can just make something that works, like chop the release connector and throw on a USB connector, or someone make a connector that fits inside the release? If there isnt i'll just buy a new guitar.

Also, my 360 freezes up LOTS when I play Madden 09. I do the clear cache x,x,lb,rb,x,x thing, but I have to do that every time or it freezes, it's a pain. Is there another way to get this to run smoother, like replacing a part or something?

I bought my 360 used so I don't think sending it to Microsoft is an option. It's not the game disc, its just the system, it does it on multiple discs, I'd really like to know if anyone has hacked apart the cord to put on a new usb connector without the release cable on a guitar or accessory, or if it can be done. Thanks guys.

you are getting RROD you could try to speed up the rrod process and send it in, if three years has not been up, or if the warranty is voided, you could do the x-clamp fix to stop the freezing. if you feel uncomfortable doing the fix yourself send me a pm.

Hack off the cable end and splice on a usb. A "typical" USB cable for a pc is only four wires, two for power and two for data. I personal haven't done this to an xbox guitar but I will do it this weekend and let you know how I make out. Or I could offer a replacment guitar for short money. As far as the freezing goes.. it probally is the beginning of rrod if you are sure the disc is okay, but there are other items that I have seen cause the freezing. Such as a faulty lens in the DVD. Does the DVD laser make noise for a few seconds when it freezes (noise from moving in and out to and from the center of the disc)? Just do the x-clamp anyway and see if it helps you at all, also clean the DVD lens. Does the freezing happen in the middle of gameplay or when the screen says "loading" or when you are saving game data to a storage device?

It usually happens at specific points in gameplay. On Madden 08 it would be fine during the games, but it was when I got to around the third season of a frachise, it would freeze up when I went to the "train active team for this week" option, and also when I tried to simulate games during the week, but I could still simulate them one by one, jsut not all at the same time, and it was only in like a third season of a frachise, in any franchise. In madden 09 it freezes usually during the second game I play, unless I do the x,x,LB,RB,x,x cache clear, then it works (it seems anyways), but the little replay window in the corner, where it does an instant replay of the play you just ran, displays blue and white randomly, everything else is fine. I can;t recall if the laser is running around or not.
