So, i was playing Legend of zelda on my wii, and paused it to take a break and out of nowhere it shutoff by itself, the red power led was lit up, so i go to turn it back on the light flashes yellow for a second then goes to black, kept trying and its still doing the same thing, i left it unplugged for about 20 minutes, tried again and still doesn't work, every time i plug it in the red led comes on, i press power and it flashes yellow then goes black, i have tried powering it on with the wii-mote and it does the same thing, i have also tried plugging it into other outlets with no success, any ideas on what could be causing it or how to fix it?, any help is very appreciated.

Any chance you were plugged into a surge protector? Power surges, even the ones that don't cut off your power, can fry your electronic devices if you're not using a surge protector. If I had to guess without knowing any other details, I would say that's it. Go with hasamoder on this one though, send it in for repair if it's still under warranty.

i had it plugged into a surge protector with a tv and xbox 360 and they still work fine, but yeah its modded and in a custom case so sending it to nintendo isn't really and option, thanks though

Well maybe you should try a different power supply. If you have a friend who has a Wii, borrow his power supply just to rule it out. You never know...
