hi my name is jordan av u tried formating the memory stick you can do this by your psp or pc i wud copy all the folders and files first though to your pc.mant thx jrudd
That's exactly the same thing that happened to me last week with my 8gb san disk(worked for about 1 month). I couldn't even get my computer to recognize it.
Guys my PSP is not able to detect the PSP so i cant format it on the PSP.Lemme try putting some other memory stick in it.But does this issue come under sony warranty if we put CFW on the PSP
no, for one its a seperate memory card and its probably the problem not the psp, if it is the psp when you try another memory stick then again no; since you have modified your psp you have voided your warranty even though its legal to use cfw
Its not illegal to mod a PSP, but when it requires servicing you will need to flash OFW. That can only be done if you don't fully brick a PSP. Pandora most of the time cannot recover a full brick, so when modding you must always create a NAND backup of the OFW before modding. After flashing CFW, create another NAND backup of the CFW and finally use IDStorage to backup the PSP keys. If you are going to return a PSP, the OFW must not be lower than the version the PSP came with during the time of purchase.
yea sure setting it back to the way it was an no one is the wiser, but it is technically voiding the warranty as long as it modified and if you try sending it back to them in that state because even though it belongs to you and your are allowed to modify it you are voiding the warranty by using it in a way they never intended or condone so as locobrown said try getting it back to the OFW it came with or above and make the appropriate backups to make switching easier.
Thanks loco brown for the info and thnx to shaggy as well but the problem is fixed when i got the momory stick replaced .looks like it was a bad memory stick and loco brown i did not take a nand back up by the way when i flashed the psp with a CFW3.80mm
You were able to flash successfully. There is no worry if you did not create a NAND of the OFW before you modded. You create one just case something were to happen because during the flash process the list of files that are being transferred scroll and each indicate a successful transfer but if 1 file fails to copy the flash aborts and the PSP turns itself off. When this happens, you expect the worst. The fear of having a full brick may want to make you throw up. This happened to me once the very first time I tried to mod my PSP. I didn't successfully mod my PSP the first time and the only way to restore it was by using the NAND backup I created. I didn't properly format my card and this created several corrupted files. I didn't want to be one of many so I didn't ask, even though the guide I used clearly stated this could happen so I just used the NAND backup to restore it. I couldn't flash CFW, until i used the NAND.
Well, now that you are on CFW create a NAND and backup your keys using KeyCleaner 1.4. Every time you upgrade to higher CFW create a NAND prior and after the install and keys of such firmware. It may be a lot of work but you can't be never too careful. If you want to flash back to OFW, install the OFW from the DC you used to flash your PSP and continue to upgrade to the desired FW using the official eboots.
