My fist time posting on this forum, I have been reading for some time now, anyway, looking for a bit of help or advice with a few things.

Background of my system:

I purchased as a test system off ebay, with E68.

System arrived with no E68 ? *worked fine*

A couple weeks later maybe 20-30 hrs of gameplay, Halo 3 started saying *unplayable disc* on load up, after several attempts it will eventually load.

Army of Two load every time ? NO *unplayable disc* - Every other game I own takes several attempts to load, including a brand new out of the case Bad Company.

The system reads Music CDs every time they are put in the tray.

Movie DVD sometime load, sometime *unplayable disc*

The system shows no signs of tampering / but I and not sure how to tell.

My questions are:

Could the laser be dying? does the Pot need to be adjusted ? or laser replaced ?

Where I bought it used will M$ do a repair if it gets RROD, should I just play the crap out of it till the RROD happens?

What is the length of time for RROD returns,(I thought I read 3 years), this system is dated MFR 2005 10 24

How can I tell if the system has been opened ?

Thanks for any help folks, much appreciated.

I don't think there's any sure way to find out if its been opened, but if you remove the face plate (stick your fingers in the usb door bit and pull) there should be a little silver Microsoft sticker, if there's not or it looks like its been peeled off and put back on, then the case has been opened..

Thanks 6BooN9

I removed the faceplate, the sticker is still there, and don't appear to have been removed.

One thing I forgot to put in my original post is:

The drive doesn't make any grinding noises when it spins up.

Thanks
