it is not illegal to sell or own/purchase a FTA receiver, and they have no right to request anyone to dispose of one either, it is of course unlawful to modify the said receiver to connect to your suppliers cable and obtain subscription channels with out paying.
how does that work out for people on mmds where no cables are used and the signal is in the air? lol

I really wouldn't worry about the letter, others have had the same and nothing has come of them.
a question for you out of curiosity,
when and where did you buy your box from?.

only a bit of hearsay but have heard from 2 people having received said letter who have never bought owned borrowed or had any interest in starview.. Yet they have bought frreview receivers off of fleabay

I have bought 2 Eurovox max v's from fleabay, 1st one was about 2 years ago and the other one was for my sis about a year ago but from a diff supplier.
Jist thought it was strange that no one had posted this year about getting a letter, so prob someone stuck me in!!
No one is a friend when thers a reward being offered!!

well,one way of getting details of people/individuals who have boxes that are being used in an inappropriate way is from this forum...they can easily grab your ip and target where you reside...am i right or am i right/!! ;-)

Don't be worrying about what the scaremongers concentrate on, you are free to visit any site on the Net, and they obviously are and do monitor this site, but what they have to do is prove that you are doing something illegal, and talking on here is not illegal. Just remember that we do it for Educational and Experimental purposes don't we, and as regards your letter, (And I am sure that they have not accused you outright anyway) - I am aware of people receiving them willy nilly and they are have not even owned one or aware of the capabilities, they are sending them out at random and hoping for a positive response, just tell them that you are outraged at getting the damn letter, or just ignore it (The SAS is not going to come through your window) and in the meantime let the scaremonger get on with his/their work. But reading the posts of late, in the name of the song (the tune/tone has changed) what a difference a day makes, 24 little hours, doomsday was looming last week - some people just can't help it, nothing better to post, rant over, so don't really know why I bothered.

LOL evening Malci I see sanity still prevails here :) Especially when it comes to ISPs and IPs by the way I know all your names, addresses, date of birth, social security numbers, your mothers maiden name, your budgies name, what school you attended, what you had for breakfast, and when you are going to die................... but then again I am just saying that.........or am I :)
You have to laugh at some of the posts of late Malci, however I decide to join in where I can :)

I did notice that, it was more of a demand for you to do that than a request or am I getting cynical as time passes. ;), anyway I think I will turn in before I get worked up, or I might mess around with something I shouldn't (like an ipod itouch) now that will be interesting LOL take care ;).

i have had a letter today well not me my girlfriend the same letter as shown , i orderd 1 through my pay pal account an had it sent to the girlfriends house , so my mrs who is awsome on a fone rang them today an give it them on the fone saying she never had 1 an how they have come to have this rubbish evidance the woman replies cause you ve orederd 1 on 16 th jan through pay pal my mrs laugh at the woman an says she dose nt have a paypal account or any other account then the woman say s has any 1 else ordered 1 to your address my mrs says NO then my mrs say dont think about sending another letter like that , the woman replies well we might send some 1 round to check an my mrs say s do what you want ,THEN the virgin media woman replies we ve got some good deals on would you like to take any of our offers lol cheeky get ,,, anyway how do they know through paypal

Now that is interesting, just where did you use your Paypal account then, what supplier? - that's supposed to be confidential, so it would be of interest who supplied that information.

i have only ever bought 2 boxes 1 was last year 1 was end of last year , the 1 st 1 was a site called cableboxshop.co.uk now thats sites not working no more , the 2nd was mycablebox.co.uk now im suspicious that the 2 nd shop is the same as the 1 st shop re opened in this name dont know why just got a feeling m8

hya peeps just thought id try and shed sum light on this i received the same letter yesterday dated march 2009 i havnt rang them not sure wether to or just ignore it? but it seems it all stems from the above mentioned sites cableboxshop etc i bought mine from there about a year ago and i notice on another forum 3 or 4 peeps said same site same letter just recently so all i can think off is they busted the guys got our payment details etc now am not really assed about the letter as a bought it for sum lad i used to know :) but do u think if some people still have the boxes and have a letter :) if you no wot i mean shud they leave it on and fuck vm or shud they dig a hole in the garden and pretend the hamster has died a dunno wot u think peeps? :)
